THE
BOHO THERAPIST

Speaker | Educator | Creator

Andrea Cennington is a woman of dualities: light and dark, gentle and fierce, warrior and healer. Known as "The Boho Therapist," she believes that balance doesn't make a woman bad—it makes her powerful.
Her journey began long before the letters appeared behind her name. From being a homeless teenager at 15 to navigating the complexities of a military career and surviving intergenerational trauma, Andrea has spent her life learning how to "alchemize" the heaviest parts of existence into gold.
She isn't just a "head in a book" academic (though she is ABD in the History of Psychology). She is a woman who finds healing in the aesthetics of a beautifully decorated room, the flow of a vibrant outfit, and the study of metaphysics. She understands that the little girl who was once antagonized and tormented still lives within, and her work is a living testimony that you can parent that inner child into a state of peace.
â
As a nationally sought-after speaker and consultant, Andrea integrates storytelling, neuroscience, and humor to shift organizational cultures. She doesn't play games when it comes to race, ethnicity, and power; she facilitates the "brave conversations" that others shy away from.

Her professional roles have included:
-
School Behavioral Health Clinician within DoDEA schools
-
Military Family Life Counselor (U.S. and overseas)
-
Clinical provider serving service members, veterans, and families
-
Consultant addressing veteran suicide and reintegration stress
She understands deployment cycles, military family systems, transition stress, and the culture of command. Her approach to veteran care is informed by professional training and lived cultural immersion.
Professional Credentials
Andrea Cennington is also a grandmother whose work is deeply rooted in legacy. Her daughter, Glorya, serves as co-founder of Bloomed Within, reflecting a generational commitment to healing, growth, and accountability.
Much of what Andrea builds—through therapy, training, and public education—is done with her grandchild in mind, grounded in the belief that cycles can be interrupted and something different can be created. Her work is both professional and personal, shaped by the understanding that the decisions made today influence what the next generation will inherit.
